Change in the Wind

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Five bald eagles sit on the branches of an old dead treetop. The blue cloudless sky provides a magnificent background and there is no sound at all. As the eagles look around silently in all directions, a light gentle wind starts to blow. It brings cool refreshing but it begins to intensify and get stronger. As the wind becomes stronger and stronger, the eagles stop resting and begin to clutch the branches with more intention.

Finally the wind gusts suddenly and all 5 eagles spring into the air at once. They all lift together into the wind before turning at the same moment and letting the wind carry them a great speed to another wilderness. In this new place there doesn’t appear to be any life. However one of the eagles begins to dive-bomb toward the dusty ground. The sand explodes outward under the impact of the eagle’s talons and it flies back up carrying a fish.

Then the others join in their own attacks and each of them carries a dinner away from the apparently empty ground – one has a rabbit, another a snake, one a turtle and the last one carries a fox.

The eagles split up in the sky and the ones with the snake and fox fly over a cliff where their prey is dropped and left. The turtle is carried to a lake high on a mountain, and the rabbit and fish are brought to a man hiding in a cave.

When they have each dropped off their cargo, they return to a large rock in the middle of a flat barren place. Each eagle faces out from the centre of the rock and instantly the landscape springs into a lush green countryside.

Lord of the Pond

man-turtle-sunsetYou appeared as a turtle today moving along a dusty roadway beside a snail and a white grub. On the horizon is the figure of a man and a silhouette of a cross in front of a setting sun. As I watched, the turtle began running toward the man, wiggling his feet desperately and scooting along more quickly than one would expect. The snail turned to the right and moved off the road while the grub just started burrowing down into the road itself.

After a very long time, the turtle got to within a few feet of the man and then stopped, seemingly unable to move another inch. He was only a short distance from the man but still the turtle could no longer move another muscle.

The turtle set down his shell and pulled in his arms and legs and rested his head on the ground. As I watched, I saw what looked like a tear developing in the turtle’s eye.

Then the man, who had stood motionless and statuesque until this point, took two steps forward and picked up the turtle. He carried him over a small hill where the road had ended, and set the turtle down in a beautiful clean clear pond of water.

I saw the man call to a crow and a skunk and commissioned them to go and eat the others and then he called all the animals left around the pond to join in a celebration and the whole scene sprang to life with crickets, frogs, birds, and wind whistling through the grass. As he watched, the man smiled and was very pleased.

Changing Seasons

I saw you today like a turtle hanging by his mouth on a branch of a tree.  Like all turtles hanging by their mouths in trees, you know they didn’t get there by their own doing, but there it was, hanging high up on a tree branch.  As I watched, the turtle’s shell changed colours and blended perfectly with the leaves of the tree… which were fairly ornate looking with a white fringe around a blue leaf.

Then everything changed.  I saw an orange box rise up out of a pile of beach sand.  The lid opened and inside was a mirror.  When I looked into the mirror, I saw the sand that was under the box… and then the box became like sand and dissolved back into  pile.

The scene changed once more and now the landscape was covered in snow.  There was a large icicle hanging from the edge of a roof.  It was beautiful with lots of shimmering light coming through it that gave it a bluish hue.  I saw a snowflake flutter down from the clear blue sky and land very gently against the side of the large icicle.  Instantly the ice exploded into a million tiny shards of ice, revealing inside was a huge and intensely valuable cut sapphire gem.

The last thing I saw was a man with a necklace on that carried a pendant made of silver, in the shape of a turtle. It was mounted on the chain by its mouth so the body of the turtle hung below the necklace. The body of the turtle was made of almost clear blue sapphire but inside was cut an hourglass with orange sand inside.
