Intended Guest

I see you sitting in the back corner of a large auditorium.  There is a crowd all around you and the ceremony going on is full of pomp and riches.  You look like you feel out of place and are trying your best to disappear in the corner.

The host appears on the stage and calls for people to come up and receive a gift.  You stay seated.  The host again calls out to the crowd and tells them that he has invited everyone and wants everyone to come forward and receive their gifts.  You see people coming back from the stage and they are carrying very interesting and unique gifts.    Nobody is unhappy with anything they have received and yet you are afraid of going forward.

Then an usher is called to the stage and the host whispers in his ear.   The messenger then makes a bee line for you and appears directly in front of you.  He touches your shoulder and says “My master has instructed me to ensure you are aware of his invitation to come forward.”  You reply that you had actually snuck in because you knew you weren’t invited.  You further explain to the usher that since you weren’t supposed to even be there, that you knew he didn’t mean for you to come forward.  You tell the usher that you don’t want to be kicked out and don’t want any trouble so you are happy to just sit where you are and at least be inside the room.

The usher leaves.

Then you see commotion on the stage.  Everyone on stage packs up their things in arm loads, and the step off the front of the stage, following the host as he makes his way through the crowd.  He stops right in front of you and with motion of his arm, indicates to the rest of the people from the stage that they are to set up right there.  The musicians start to play and the host calls his usher over who hands him an envelope.  He opens it looks at it a moment and hands it to you.

It is your invitation and it has a date stamped on it from 2 months ago.  With you jaw dropped, he calls for the usher to bring something else and while the musicians play, a treasure chest is placed in front of you.  The host opens the chest and you see a gold-plated typewriter.   On the front of it is the word “ROYAL”.

Removing it you ask why he gave it to you and the host responds… “I want to read the rest of your story now that you understand you really do belong here.”

Tale of Two Wheels

Today you are a wagon, filled beyond your capacity with your payload covered with an old dingy canvas tarp. Your wooden sides are weathered and creaky, held up by a few spindly timbers that look themselves to be nearing a breaking point. Your cargo is held aloft on old wooden pioneer wagon wheels and the wooden spokes are also weathered and worm-holed.

I see you leaning to one side on the edge of a road on a cloud covered, misty dreary day. The road is wide and has solid gravel paving most of the path but one of your wheels has managed to find a very deep rut at the very edge of the roadway and it is lodged deep in that rut, covered deeper by the mud from the wet weather. wagonWheelThe other wheel is strong looking, with smooth well varnished spokes and steel capped wooden edging that has had great care taken in its painting and upkeep. It is well situated on the road but is tied by the axle to the wheel which is stuck in the mud so the whole wagon cannot move.

As people walk by they see you stuck on the side but one by one, they notice you and move to the other side of the road casually and pass by trying desperately to appear like they don’t even see you. Some busy themselves specifically while they pass you, by opening books, or rummaging through their handbags, or by engaging in conversations with those they are with. But in each case these activities only begin at the sight of your duress, and end after they pass you by.

Then I see an old beggar man, dressed in grungy looking clothes with a long beard and a weathered face. He walks with a tall straight walking stick and doesn’t look to the left or to the right as he walks along the road. Long before he sees you his path is adjusted and as he approaches you it becomes apparent that his path is directly on course for you. When he gets to you he doesn’t stop to assess anything but immediately gets to work with his bare hands digging down into the mud beside your lodged wheel. When he has dug deep enough, he takes his straight walking stick and lays it on the ground in front of your wheel, lodging it under the lead edge. Then he moves to the front of the wagon and lifts your hitch and begins pulling. With a slow constant gradual movement he easily pulls you out of the ditch and straightens you out onto the middle of the road way. Just as he does, a crowd of people have gathered and are standing around watching.

Then he looks at the crowd, then at you. In one fluid motion he grabs a corner of your dingy canvas tarp and throws it violently off the top of your cargo, sending it far off into the ditch. Uncovered now is a huge pile of gold coins and diamond gemstones. When the crowd sees them they look back at the old beggar to see what he will do next but he has also transformed. He too had cast off his own grungy robes and threw them into the ditch and in the place of a beggar is now a regal looking tall officer dressed in a regal looking white uniform with a captain’s hat now resting on his head.

Glory & Deception Part 2

(Part 1 click here.)

You took another few steps toward the strange box but the light was so fierce that even your eyelids would not block out its intensity and you had to turn back. Then you noticed that you were unable to see as everything else had become so intensely dark that nothing was visible to you. To orient yourself you decided to walk toward the outside wall and feel your way around until you got back to the door.

As you reached the wall, instead of feeling smooth marble with fine elegant picture frames, you feel sandy clay walls, dusty and crumbling and where you remembered a painting’s frame should be, you felt an old weathered barn board frame instead. For some instinctive reason, you grabbed the rugged frame and lifted it off the wall and threw the painting on the floor.

The rooms light became every so slightly more visible.

Using your sense of touch, you walked along the wall feeling for the next painting and when you reached that one, again you unhooked it and threw it onto the floor near the middle. As you continued around the room removing every painting, the room continues to get brighter and brighter until you can see everything as clear as day.

Finally there is a single painting left on the wall but this one still has a beautiful ornate golden frame. You examine and picture and see that although you are in it, the picture is actually one of a very distinguished man dressed in a royal robe and he has his arm around your shoulder. You are picking flowers from a field and giving them to him. The Man is large and very much the centre of the picture. This time when you try to unhook the painting, it is immovable.

You leave it and turn back toward the centre of the room.

Instead of a wooden armoire, you now see a strange four sided tower, with large white marble arches in each wall. But looking through the arches, instead of seeing the other side of the small tower, you see the outside world. As you walk toward the arches, you can see the man from the painting waiting for you outside in a large beautiful garden with majestic mountains in the background and a perfectly blue cloudless sky above him.

As soon as you walk through the arches everything behind you disappears and you suddenly become 10 feet tall and your body has transformed into a glimmering alabaster sheen. You are completely covered in shiny clean white robes and there is a blue, purple and red ring on your right hand.

The man invites you toward him and you see he is motioning to you to sit in a throne which he is standing beside. As you step forward and sit down, he hands you a beautiful golden rod with a diamond cap on the end and says, “I’ve been waiting for you. It’s time for you to take over the business.”

Glory & Deception Part 1

There is an alcove leading into a building, and in the alcove are very ornate works of trim casing the tall double doors which are open and inviting toward larger rooms inside. Just to the left of the doors is a small hutch on which sits some bread and cakes with butter, silverware, jams and preserves and some goblets beside the decanter of grape juice.

I watched you walk over to the table and pick up a piece of bread, and one of the doors closed tight with a slam. You looked up and saw its mate was still open.

You put the bread back down and reached for the decanter, and the other door began to swing closed so you pulled your hand back.

Without taking any of the food, you rushed into the next room, not risking the doors closing completely. In this room was more ornate wood work, with rich red velvet curtains and burnt amber reddish wall coverings. There were tables all around the room with beautiful gold and silver goblets, plates and other dish ware, as well as knick knacks that had been finely crafted. On some of the tables around the outside walls you could also see gold and silver coins stacked beside the dishes, as well as rings, necklaces and other fine jewellery.

You stood in the middle of the room and from there you could see through the next doorway into an even larger room that appeared to shine with white and grey marble. This time you watched the door acutely as you slowly took one step toward the treasures, and noticed the slightest move of the door on its hinges. Changing direction you again turned and walked quickly through that door as well.

Now in the marble room you looked around and every wall had a picture of yourself hanging in a large frame that showed you in some type of victorious conquest… in one you were painted on the top of a mountain, another showed you working in a laboratory with a look of triumph on your face and a glowing beaker in your hand. You strolled toward each one and began to thoroughly enjoy all your works. Others showed you with various celebrities enjoying all types of tourist attractions, or sporting shows. The more you walked the more pictures appeared.

It dawned on you that there didn’t appear to be any exits from this room and you turned toward the middle of the large hall to see a small wooden armoire type of box in the middle. Of course the doors were all tightly closed. As you walked toward it a brighter and brighter light shone in front of it until you were no longer able to look at it for fear of blindness.

Flaming Defeated

Today you sit in a chairparalyzed from the neck down. Your arms and legs are bound by flames to the chair and there are flames all around you.

The chair sits in the middle of a pathway surrounded by flames but the path is clear. Just in front of you a white glowing warrior stands leaning on a long blazing sword which itself is made of fire but much whiter and hotter than the flames all around you.

He speaks and water shoots out of his mouth and shoots directly into your heart. It brings a massive jolt of incredible relief and refreshment and you suddenly have white fire reflecting in your own eyes. His words do not make sense to your mind but your body is completely energized by them. He continues to speak until you are fully excited and ready to break free. But he stops then and asks you in English – “Are you ready to repent?”

For a brief moment, all the relief and refreshment stops. You feel the pain of no energy and see the flames locking you in your chair. There is no question you hate where you are sitting, but it is a comfortable dullness. To repent as the glowing warrior asks, means moving into the dangerous unknown. Your thoughts return to the sensations you just experienced by the living water and you reply with a loud “YES!”

The warrior doesn’t speak, but moves around behind you. You watch from the sides of your eyes as you twist your neck, and see the warrior lift the long white sword. With a mighty chop straight down behind you, something severs. There is a painful and enormous jolt of electricity shooting in through your back and radiating to your every nerve. The pain is sudden, sharp and short-lived. Then your body returns to a feeling of normal… there is no more pain, no more discomfort and no sensation of hyperactive energy levels either. The glowing warrior returns to stand in front of you and waits.

You look around. Flames still lock your wrists and ankles in the chair. You look up and ask the warrior why you are still locked in. He replies “Your life is yours to live. Whether the flames threaten to lock you in your chair or I offer you the power of release, the choice remains yours to speak to your circumstance and subdue your realm.

AngelWarriorYou sit for a moment thinking about these words and then utter a command: “I WILL LIVE AND NOT DIE!” At the same time you lunge forward trying to break free of the flaming restraints.

Instantly there is sunlight shining everywhere. The flames are completely gone, and nothing is burned or even smells like smoke. You find yourself standing in front of the chair and the angel before you smiles, turns to walk away calling over his shoulder… “Good, now let’s get to work on your destiny.”

Open Door Decision

I saw you being deceived.

You are walking down a very long hallway that has a simple plain wooden door at the end of it. As you walk toward the door, a second door appears beside the first one, on the left. Both doors appear to be the same. You are puzzled by the appearance of the second door and begin to look discouraged because you will have to make a choice of which door to choose once you reach them.

But you continue to walk down the hall toward them. Suddenly, a new door appears just to your right. This one is brightly coloured and has a beautiful brass handle. You stop for a moment and look at it but continue to walk past it.

Then two more doors appear on your left, both of which make the first one pale in comparison as they are even more beautifully coloured and have even more elaborate handles. But these you also pass by, after just a short moment of pause to examine them.

Your mind is still focused on the two doors at the end of the hall and I see you praying as you walk, asking God to help you understand which door to choose.

Then scales fall off your eyes and you see strange looking ghost like people rushing around worriedly cutting holes and hanging doors in the sides of the hallway. Each door they put in was plain and ugly but once it was in, more ghostly figures would appear and start painting it with exciting colours and some of them would glue rhinestone on the doors. The handles too were just old rusty things that some figure would paint with gold paint to make it shiny.

Then the rest of the hallway was filled up with so many doors that there were no spaces of clear wall left and the closer the doors got to the end of the hall, the more beautiful they became.

You stopped as you heard a voice asking you “Do you understand now?” and in a nod you said yes. Then you began running past all the doors and hurried to open the very first plain door that you saw originally. As soon as you turned the knob, every other door in the hallway disappeared and you were immediately taken to a new place, a palace made of gold, jewels and marble everywhere.

A Dangerous Trance

chair8PlainI was praying for someone this morning and got a picture of them resting with their eyes closed, in a dreamy space. There was strange but quiet music happening in the background and you could feel a soft warm and cool breeze blowing against your skin. It kept changing from warm to cool and back again. There was also a sweet, spicy fragrance in the air that you were breathing.

In the distance I saw a black locomotive train with a dull headlight running at top speed rushing toward you. It made no sound though, but as it approached, the music got a bit louder. The changing temperature from the breeze against your skin started to irritate you and your eyebrows furled to show that you were becoming more intense about concentrating on trying to relax.

Then the music – which used to be soft and quiet, was becoming grating. As each tone became more clear, it also became sharper to the ear and the breezes seemed to react to the noise so that your skin felt like sandpaper was rubbing you all over.

There was another flash of the locomotive, so close now that the whole dream space seemed to rumble.

Suddenly there was a huge rip in the background colour and atmosphere with angels pulling at each side of the rip to open it up. While they continued pulling and holding back the tear, several more angels rushed into the dream space and grabbed you by both arms yanking you out of the way of the speeding train.

You react with disgust and anger at the angels for interrupting what you had been working so hard at doing. Then one of the angels reaches out and pulls what appear to be earbud headphones out of your ears.

Instantly the scene is completely shaken by the deep rumbling sound of a very heavy locomotive, and it’s whistle makes several loud blasts. Then another much larger angel closes up the rip by gathering in the sides of the dream scape they pulled you out of, and like throwing a bag of garbage, he hurls it over a cliff into a deep chasm.

As soon as you recognize that you were just rescued, the entire scene changes and it’s like you just woke up from a daydream, and you find yourself on a side walk in a busy city.

The Crow and the Eagle

chair6I saw a picture of you this morning. You are standing in the middle of an endlessly wide wheat field drooping with the weight of needing to be harvested, and you’re reaching out with your arms, because your eyes are tightly closed. You are looking for something and getting discouraged because you can’t see with your eyes.

A crow flies by and lands on your head. As it sits there, it cocks his head from side to side checking to see your eyeballs… because he wants to pluck them out and eat them. You seem distracted only slightly that he is sitting on your head but you continue to reach out with your arms searching for something.

Even though the sun is shining, there is a loud crack of thunder and out of nowhere a huge eagle appears soaring overhead. It remains silent though and swoops down and grabs the crow in its talons, ripping him away from your head and carries him off past the horizon.

In moments the eagle returns and lands in front of you. Even though the eagle is standing on the ground, it is the same height as you are and with a wing he reaches out and gently swats your head.

Instantly you open your eyes.

As soon as you do the eagle speaks. “Look around you and call out for what you are searching for.”

You seem embarrassed and giggle a little with shyness.

Again the eagle reaches out and swats your head gently.

This time your body changes and you suddenly become very serious. Looking around you see the field, completely full of wheat and ready for harvest.

“I need a barn and silos” you say breaking the silence. They instantly appear to one side.

“I need a combine as well as a tractor with a large wagon” and instantly one appears on the other side, already harvesting the wheat.

“Can I have my heart fixed too?” Your question draws another gentle swat from the eagle who then speaks again.

“You are not a guest here… this is your assignment. You may call whatever you need and whatever will keep you from distraction. This is what you have been designed to do. Some things are good for you and some are not. Be careful what you call into being.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he jumped up and flew away.

Then the whole scene dissolved and there was a lake of peace where the field used to be. On the shore is a cabin with an inviting porch; a plume of smoke rises from the chimney and you are on the shore running toward the lake.

You continue running out onto the dock and dive into the lake full speed without stopping.

Then the vision ends.

Lost in a Wilderness

 chair3

Lonely mountains growing in a rocky wilderness rise up on all sides of a sullen orphan boy as he wanders aimlessly on a path through the dreariness. Everywhere he looks there are signs he has seen before and come to acknowledge as confirmations that he will always be lost.

But as the picture moves back and a larger view is shown, there is a harlequin using marionette paddles and strings to lift rocks and barriers into place all around this child. Behind the harlequin is a room full of brilliant gold items and stunning gemstones… but they are all hidden by the mountains and rocks the harlequin is moving around.

As the boy moves toward a brighter spot in the wilderness, the sinister puppeteer realizes the sheen from the gold and gems are illuminating part of the boy’s path so he takes one hand and spreads out his trench coat to cover the treasure’s light and stop it from shining on the despairing child’s false world.

Then a Hawk appears in the sky and begins circling the boy over the rocky scene. The harlequin shows frustration at its presence but is too busy working the marionette sticks to engage the hawk… although he tries with futility by waving the corners of his elbows in its direction. The hawk starts to swoop down around the boy who confuses this ally to be yet another dart in the barrage of discouragement, but the hawk is only after drawing the child’s attention. It lands on a large boulder directly in front of the boy and stares intently at him. Then when the child has lifted his gaze to question the strange countenance of the bird, the hawk suddenly grows 3 sizes and, digging its talons into the stone like it was paper mache, it takes off carrying the stone with it.

The harlequin is furious as the stone has left a gaping hole in the discouraging scene he has worked so hard to create but the boy is riveted at the treasure he sees through the new portal.

As he looks, the harlequin quickly pulls several strings and a bush, thick and thorny grows up before his eyes and covers the hole’s access entirely.

The hawk swoops down again to gain the boy’s attention and once it has his attention, the bird dive bombs another rock sending it hurling; again the rock resembles something ridiculously light, but it also exposes another hole. Before the hawk flies off this time, it grabs a bush some distance away from the stone it just smashed and now the boy is astonished seeing two holes in the firmament.

While the child begins running toward one of the holes, the harlequin – now furious – throws one of the marionette controls at the bird but this only results in 5 more holes showing up before the child and the boy slows his running down to peer into the new portals. He realizes quickly that all holes a showing him different angles of the same picture and for the first time he looks up and sees the deceptive puppeteer. With a questioning glance at the hawk the boy receives unspoken encouragement from the bird’s eyes and the child begins yelling accusations of protests at the harlequin who shrieks, turns and begins running. As he flees, the strings of all his scenery now reveal that they are attached to various parts of his body. With the flight of the deceptor goes all traces of the false wilderness the boy once found himself in. The child rushes in to the midst of all the jewels, gold and innumerable treasures making a dash for the one item that captures his heart: a gold and sapphire set of curved stairs leading to the highest point in the radiant scene. Running to the top, he stands boldly and holds out his hand toward the hawk… with the biggest smile spread wide upon the face of the child who once had no hope.

Flying away, the hawk finally calls back, speaking for the first time “Do not look to me, but to Him from whom I was sent.
